Decide what kind of campaign you would like to run before adding new task. Refer to the sample use cases for examples.
Before you start, make sure that you have added:
Give your task a Name that is meaningful to you. Example, New Year Promotion.
Enter a Start date and time when you want the task to commence.
Enter an End date and time when you want to stop tracking reply messages to the task. It is optional. If left blank, the task will continue until it is aborted by you.
If you intend to send outbound SMS for the task, select Broadcast and enter your message in the Broadcast Message box. You can enter up to 306 characters but do note that if you entered more than 160 characters the message will be sent out a multipart SMS (equivalent to 2 x SMS). You can also record a voice message and insert the URL to the voice clip in the message by clicking the icon. Or, upload a picture and insert the URL to the picture in the message by clicking the icon. If you have linked your Twitter and Facebook accounts, you can choose to post a copy of your broadcast message to your Twitter/Facebook account.
If you would like to activate automatic opt out tracking or use the Auto-responder or Polling feature, you should select Reply Tracking. When this option is selected, SMS Communications Manager will check SMS replies received and take any required actions.
Select Auto-responder if you would like to send SMS reply automatically to each inbound message. Enter your intended reply message in the Auto-responder Message box. Voice message and picture message are also supported for auto-responder.
If you are running multiple tasks concurrently, select Campaign Keyword Tracking and enter the keyword in the Campaign Keyword box. Remember to inform your contacts (recipients) to use the campaign keyword in your Broadcast Message. When the campaign keyword appears as the first word in an inbound SMS, SMS Communications Manager will know that it is a reply to the campaign.
If you are conducting a SMS polling campaign, select Sort Replies for Polls. When selected, SMS Communications Manager will sort all reply messages according to the words that appear in the message body. The results will be provided in the Task Report.
Select a Device that you would like to use for sending and receiving messages for the task. The selected device must be connected at the start date of the campaign.
Add contacts by selecting Client Groups. All contacts in the selected Client Groups will be listed. You can de-select individual contact at the Contacts list.
Once you have completed the information, click Add to submit the task. The new task should now appears on the left panel. A submitted task cannot be edited. However, it can be aborted by clicking on the icon.
